Interview With New Author Rayanna Jamison

I am so excited to have brand spanking new, (pun intended!) author, Rayanna Jamison.

Her debut novel, Bride Two Soon, is about a very interesting topic – the spanking relationship and HoH dynamic in a polygamous relationship.

Normally, I read about HOH’s who lead (and spank ) one woman. But this book will have double the spankings!

I look forward to reading this, and seeing how Ms Jamison shows best friend / wives “fighting” for the attention and affections of their dominant husband, and seeing how he deals with each of them in turn. This is going to be fun!

Today, we get to meet the new author, and learn more about her and her brand new book.

Katherine Deane: Thanks for joining me today, Rayanna. So, how do you feel right now?  Explain the emotions you went through the past week. Have you had time to settle back in or are you still flying high?

Rayanna Jamison: Thanks for having me, Katherine. Well, for starters, I haven’t been sleeping well since about 2 days before the book came out. This entire process has been a roller coaster ride of emotions, and I think my biggest issue is knowing that quite a few of my friends have read my book. That’s a scary feeling. Mostly this has been an amazing process, and I have learned a lot, and made some great friends. I don’t know if I would say I’m on a high, because I have a lot of conflicting emotions, but I am definitely still in a daze.

Katherine Deane: It’s a pretty cool feeling, I agree! Is this also your first written book? Had you ever written before this? Blog, unpublished stories, anything?

Rayanna Jamison: This is my first PUBLISHED book I guess. That being said, it’s also the first book I have written in fifteen years, But when I was younger, I was always writing.

Katherine Deane: Congratulations! So tell me about your book.

Rayanna Jamison: My book is based in a fictional polygamous town that is based off a real polygamous town near where I live. In these towns, the women are given a vision, a name, of who they are supposed to marry. They give the name to the bishop and he informs the intended husband. In my story, Mollie and Ben who are newlyweds, find out that another woman has given Ben’s name as her intended husband, and that woman is Mollie’s best friend Beth Anne. Mollie is furious, and chaos and fighting ensue. No-one can fight quite the way best friends can, so Ben certainly has his hands full between the two women.

Katherine Deane: This is so cool! I love the premise of this story. So this kind of has a fantasy vibe to it, because of the “visions”, correct?

Rayanna Jamison: No, I couldn’t write fantasy if I tried. There is a real polygamous sect that believes this way, and I wouldn’t call it a vision so much as a strong feeling, or answer to prayer. I used vision for lack of a better word.

Katherine Deane: Ok, that makes sense. Who’s your favorite character? Did you use any real life influence for this character?

Rayanna Jamison: Oh my gosh! I’m not sure I could choose. Pretty much all my characters ended up having some real life influence, although I didn’t plan it that way. Probably the only one that doesn’t remind me of anyone is Ben. I like Owen, Ben’s father, because he reminds me of my husband’s grandfather. He has ended up being my most controversial character though, which doesn’t surprise me. He’s very old school, and some think he is chauvinistic, but I think he is wise and kind, and has a big personality.

Katherine Deane: Are you in any sort of spanking relationship? (I am in a LDD relationship with my husband, and confuse the heck out of him with my spankophile nature. Hehe, I like to keep him on his toes! :))

Rayanna Jamison: My husband and I do practice DD, but it is on again/off again. I am a huge spanko, but that’s a whole different story!

Katherine Deane: If you could live out this book, would you prefer to have another husband or another wife in your relationship. (I wouldn’t be able to go the polygamy route, but I do fantasize about being spanked by other men I know.  Like the neighbor guy up the street.  Alas, in real life, hubby would never go for it, and I would feel guilty. So this is all fantasy 🙂

Rayanna Jamison: I could honestly not fathom being spanked by anyone but my husband! It took me so long to even share that part of me with him, so no, not at this point.

As far as polygamy, living where we now live, we have joked about it, but that’s as far as it will ever go. If I had to choose though, yeah, no I can’t I’m too prude!  We used to say I would take another wife and she could do everything (cook, clean etc) EXCEPT have sex with my husband!

So yeah, besides the sharing spouse part, i could see myself enjoying certain benefits in a polygamous relationship. J/k

Katherine Deane: LOL, we are on the same wavelength for extra wives, I think.

Except, my extra wife would be miserable. I’m a huge packrat, er slob, er creative type 😉

Does anyone in your real life know about this cool new adventure you are on? Brand new published author, spankophile…

Rayanna Jamison: Quite a few of my RL friends (and my parents) know my pen name so i don’t mind joking around about implements or getting in trouble or things like that, but I don’t want to go to in depth in a public forum.

Katherine Deane: I can understand that completely. Once it’s out there, it is out. There! 🙂

I do wish I could be open like that with my friends and family. But they are not ready. Maybe someday. Huge kudos to you for having such a great support network in real life.

And congratulations on your first story!

I can’t wait to read it. It is a very different premise that I have not read before, and sounds very entertaining.

Thanks for joining me today.

Rayanna Jamison: Thanks for having me Katherine! This was fun and I hope you enjoy the book.

Katherine Deane: Here is brief explanation of an excerpt from Rayanna’s brand new book. Thanks for sharing, Rayanna!

Ben has been threatening to spank Beth Anne for weeks, even though propriety says that he would not discipline her until they are married. Beth Anne’s job and her work schedule has been a point of contention for Ben since their first date. He has set some rules in place for after they are married, but when Beth Anne stays late after work, and is late to their pre-marital counseling session with the bishop, Ben can’t let it slide, and decides he must punish her, despite the fact that the wedding is still a week away!

When she remained stoic, he began spanking in earnest. Using his hand like a paddle, spread out with his palm flat, he rained swat after swat all over every inch of her heart-shaped bottom, until he could feel the heat radiating up through the thin layer of her flimsy maxi skirt. It was a light, summery floral print, pink and orange flowers on an ivory background, and he realized that up close and at the right angle, it was nearly see through. He pulled it tight, stretching the fabric against her swollen globes, and was satisfied to find that he could see a rosy pink glow through the fabric. She began to moan and wiggle slightly on his lap, causing a familiar ache in his groin. He realized with a groan that he had to get her off his lap and finish her spanking before things got out of hand. He drew a deep breath and counted slowly in his head before exhaling. When he felt the swelling in his member decrease and diminish, he patted her bottom and helped her to rise off of his lap. She was shaky when she stood and he was surprised to see her eyes wet with unshed tears.  She looked so sweet, trusting and vulnerable that he nearly came undone. He had never been this affected by a spanking before. He couldn’t help himself, he reached out and pulled her into his arms, kissing her face softly, everywhere but on her lips, as they were saving that for their wedding day. He didn’t want to finish the spanking, couldn’t bear to do what he knew he must. It took every ounce of resolve he had to pull away from her.  When he spoke, his breath caught in his throat and his voice cracked. “Good girl, Beth Anne,” he whispered, swallowing hard.

This is a story of love and life- long friendship against the odds. What happens when two life long best friends Mollie, and Beth Anne find themselves married to the same old fashioned man? Can they remain friends? Will jealousy get the best of them? Will their husband be able to fix the problem with a good old fashioned spanking, or two?

Great interview ladies! It’s hard putting out a book. It’s written- you think you’re all done, and then you spend sleepless nights and days biting your nails thinking everyone is going to hate it.
    I wouldn’t worry Rayanna! I think it’s a great premise. I wish you great success 🙂

Great interview and book. I agree with you and I tell my husband that we need a housewife. We need an extra wife that stays home and does all the cooking and cleaning because I like working and hate cleaning. I just don’t think I could share her with my husband LOL. I’m joking I only enjoying reading these stories my actual life is extremely normal. I look forward to reading more in the future.
