Jaye Peaches visits!

I am very excited to have Jaye Peaches visiting me today with an excerpt from her hot new story, Perfect Notes.  Here she is! 🙂

Hi Katherine, thanks for hosting me today. I’ve brought along my latest release, Perfect Notes, a tale of passionate love and music making between a dominant man and his pupil. Music is supposed to be the food of love – and for my two musicians, Callie and Stefan, it certainly proved successful in initiating some hot, unexpected sex. Now that Callie is cooling off in the shower, the doubts creep in about his intentions towards her.

No more seduction by music. We had to talk.

I switched off the shower, draped a bath sheet about my shoulders and stepped into the bedroom.

My clothes had gone.

I’d collected them off the living room floor and laid them on the bed. He’d moved them. I hunted about, expecting to see them on the floor or on a chair. I flung open the closet, a cavernous wardrobe filled with all manner of clothing from casual to formal tuxedo, but not my clothes. A bathrobe hung on the back of the en-suite door, and I hurriedly put it on before charging out of the room.

“Stefan,” I shouted from the top of the spiral staircase. “Where are my clothes?”

On the other side of the vast studio, beavering away in his kitchen lining up pans on the stove and plates on the worktop, was Stefan, clothed in his polo shirt and black jeans.

He glanced up, switched off the extractor fan in the hood and cupped a hand to his ear. The smirk on his face told me differently. He knew exactly why I was hollering.

I stomped down the staircase and marched across the space, past the piano. With my hands on my hips, I glared at him. “My clothes?”

“Ah. What have I done with them?” He made a pretense of looking around, even opening a kitchen cupboard and poking around in it.

“Ha ha.” I tapped a bare foot on the floor. “Did you think I might run off?”

“Possibly.” He stood. “No regrets? I mean, if you do, fair enough, but don’t lie to me.”

“Lie to you? You hold my clothes hostage and expect me to be honest.”

“True.” He pursed his lips, but his eyes still twinkled with amusement.

“It’s not funny.”

He changed his expression, altered it. The humor vacated and he suddenly understood—I was far from happy at his game. “I see. Look, I’ll get your clothes, and if you want to go after lunch, I’m not going to stop you. However, if you want to stay, play some more, clarinet, whatever, then why put on your clothes again?”

I wagged a finger at him. “You’re dressed.”

“So are you.” He leaned back on the worktop, crossing his ankles nonchalantly.

“It’s a bathrobe.” I shook a lapel.

“By definition, you’re dressed.”

“Are you usually this argumentative?” I snapped.

“Only when somebody argues with me.” His lips curved upward again.

Try as I may, I couldn’t stay angry with him. His face held an expectation of compliance and I caved. I shrugged and spun around. “All right. Feed me and we’ll see.”

Callie is all he desires—the tonic for his dominance. But to fulfill their dreams, she must succumb to his passions.

Amateur clarinetist Callie turns up for an orchestra rehearsal following a six-week absence to find a new conductor in residence—Stefan, a charismatic man with ambitions of being a composer. After he gives her a lift home, he invites her to his house for a practice session. What begins as a music lesson ends with a passionate display of dominance by Stefan.

As their sexual affair blossoms, Callie is increasingly drawn to find out more about her aspiring composer and why he is a potent lover in the bedroom. When she turns up unexpectedly at his house, she is shocked to find him in the company of a naked woman. Horrified to think that he might have betrayed her, she calls an end to their relationship, but persistent Stefan begs for a second chance.

Encouraged by her boss to resolve her feelings toward Stefan, Callie seeks out a friend of his, hoping to understand what drives him to dominate, but the given explanation creates more unresolved issues for Callie. Determined to seek out the truth, she plans to confront Stefan. But by then, he has gone abroad. Callie must make a decision—cash in her savings and follow Stefan, or banish him from her life. If she does the latter, she will never understand the nature of the intense emotions he has awakened within her. Does she dare to love him?

Really enjoyed this excerpt Jaye, love that Stefan was playful, but also knew when to be serious. Of course she couldn’t stay angry 🙂 Congratulations on the new release! Can’t wait to start reading this.

Thank you Katherine for hosting 🙂
