Hot, new, Science Fiction from Kelly Dawson!

Kelly Dawson is visiting today with a sexy, science fiction, sure to heat things up!

Excerpt:

“Wake up beautiful,” Damian whispered, kissing a line along her cheek from her ear to the corner of her lip. She groaned, and opened her eyes.

“Is it morning already?” she grumbled.

Damian didn’t answer. Instead, he covered his mouth with hers, catching her tongue between his teeth, exploring her mouth with his tongue, tasting her.

His mouth was hot; his saliva tingled her. It was like a chemical reaction was happening in response to their passion and she was powerless to stop it. She couldn’t have pulled away from his kiss even if she’d wanted to. She wanted him. She ached for him. She felt a stirring in her loins, her breasts swelled and tightened beneath the weight of him on her chest. Fireworks went off inside her as he deepened the kiss, probing further with his tongue, his mouth devouring her eagerly. One of his hands was entwined in her hair at the back of her head, the other had snaked down to her thighs and was fumbling with the button on her jeans. He slipped his fingers inside the waistband, pushing them down just far enough for him to brush her pussy with the tips of his fingers. She arched her back to meet him as his thumb traced circles over her pubic bone, his fingers wandering lower and lower, one finger delving inside her gently, another one finding her swollen nub and rubbing with the barest of touches, teasing her.

She moaned into his mouth. “More.”

Taking His Human Bride Cover-KD

Blurb:

Less than a day after two gruff military officers detain her and escort her to a government facility, Melissa Malone finds herself leaving the planet on a newly-built spacecraft heading for one of the moons of Jupiter. Unknown to most of the world, an asteroid is hurtling toward Earth and, due to her unrivaled computer skills, Melissa is one of a select group of people chosen to rebuild civilization should humanity prove unable to avert the approaching cataclysm.

Melissa’s situation rapidly goes from bad to much worse when the ship is attacked and the crew is easily overcome by what she can only assume are aliens. Melissa is taken captive along with everyone else, but while the others are to be sold as slaves, she quickly discovers that her captors have special plans for her. She is promptly stripped naked for an intimate, incredibly humiliating medical examination, and when she fails to do as she is told during the shameful procedure she is punished thoroughly, leaving much more than just her bare bottom burning hot and sore. Once she is deemed suitable, Melissa is given as a bride to a powerful officer named Damian.

Though she is horrified by the prospect of being taken as a wife by a man who makes it clear that he will expect her absolute submission and will sternly punish any defiance, Melissa soon learns that Damian has laid claim to her for a reason. He is on a mission, sent by the leaders of his world to infiltrate and bring to justice the band of renegades who took her captive… and he needs her help.

Despite her fury at Damian’s willingness to compel her obedience with a firm hand applied to her bare bottom, she cannot help delighting in the way her body responds to his touch, and his skillful, dominant lovemaking brings her to heights of passion she never imagined possible. But when the time comes for her to put her abilities to the test with the fate of the Earth on the line, can she outwit a rogue computer expert and prove that Damian’s trust in her was well placed?

Kelly Dawson’s Author-versary!

Kelly Dawson is celebrating her author-versary this week, so we all get to celebrate!  If you like horses, you are going to  love this excerpt. 🙂

Bracken Anniv Sale

Excerpt:

“And they’re off!” shouted the announcer. Anna’s eyes were on Star – she was one of the last horses out of the gate and so far was right at the back of the pack, near the middle of the track, but she could see Josh expertly guiding her in gradually towards the centre rail, thereby shortening the length of the track.

Anna snuck a look at her father. Like her, he too was holding his breath, his fists clenched, his whole body taut with nervous tension. His eyes were riveted on the track, and she could see his lips moving but couldn’t make out what he was saying.

The horses were started to spread out now, making an order – the leaders setting the pace, the main mob bunching to the inside rail. Star was still near the back, and Anna was worried. They were fast nearing the first corner, and the gap between Starlight and the leaders was widening with every second.

“The gap’s too wide, she won’t be able to make it up!” she panicked, turning to Jeremy. Glancing at her father again, she saw him hopping up and down on his toes, his fists still clenched, his brow furrowed in nervous frustration.

Jeremy squeezed her hand reassuringly. “Josh knows what he’s doing,” he reminded her softly. “He’s following your father’s instructions. And he’s the best. There will be a reason why he told Josh to ride the race this way, and Josh is doing it.”

Anna knew he was right, but still … she knew Star could go a lot faster than what she was going currently, she thought Josh was holding her back too much. The race wasn’t overly long – if he let the gap get too wide, she’d never have the time to make it up. She let out the breath she was holding and took another, shallow one, eyes riveted on Starlight and Josh.

She watched Josh touch her shoulder with his whip and Starlight responded immediately – with a surge of acceleration they overtook three horses on the outside and then Josh gently guided her back once more to the middle of the pack, closer to the centre rail. They remained there for a bit, closing the gap ever so slowly by overtaking just one horse at a time, Josh holding Star in a steady speed, a ground-churning gallop that held back enough that she wouldn’t be too exhausted for a surge of speed at the end. Anna’s heart was in her mouth as she watched the horses and jockeys jostling and vying for position as they rounded the corner; as this was Star’s first race she wasn’t used to being pushed. But she breathed a sigh of relief as Josh expertly guided her further out into the centre of the track, away from the milling mob. It meant further to run, but that was a small price to pay for escaping the pushing and shoving that was happening in the thick of the throng.

Coming down the back stretch, Anna’s father started to become animated, clenching and unclenching his fists, bobbing up and down on his toes, and breathing quickly. “Come on Josh, make your move,” he commanded quietly, waiting expectantly for the eruption of speed he knew was about to happen. “Come on you damn jockey, do it! Make your move!” he was yelling now, frustration and excitement both evident in his voice. “Come on Josh!” her father willed again.

And Josh made his move.

Blurb:

Kelly Dawson visits with a sexy cowboy that spanks!

I am so excited to have Kelly Dawson here today. This story is a standalone, but also part of a series called The Heart of the West. This is on my Kindle and calling for me to read. Especially after this yummy excerpt. 🙂

Excerpt:

“I’m not a child!” she protested.

“No,” Mr Jordan agreed, sliding down off his gelding. “I wouldn’t do to a child what I’m about to do to you. What were you thinking? There’s no doctor within 200 miles – you could have been killed!”

“But I wasn’t,” she pointed out. “We were fine.”

She watched in morbid fascination as Mr Jordan took off his gun belt, draping it over the saddle of his horse. Then he rolled up his sleeves to the elbows to expose corded, muscular forearms. He was really going to do it! There were no wooden spoons out here – was he just going to use his hand? The thought intrigued her. She took in his sheer size, his incredible strength, his powerful muscles, his well-toned body. She took note of his huge, calloused hands. She gulped. Somehow, she didn’t think Mr Jordan would need anything other than the palm of his hand to ignite a fire in her backside.

“I gave you an order,” he told her sternly, but so quietly that she could barely hear him.

“I’m not much good at taking orders.” She waved her hand dismissively. “It was just me and Neil for a long time. I’m not used to being obedient.”

“Well you’re about to learn.”

She has grown accustomed to getting no help at all from her alcoholic brother, but when his violent, sadistic friend tries to make Jedda his wife against her will, it is the last straw.

Her attacker is the son of the richest family in town, and with the corrupt sheriff ready to do his bidding Jedda is desperate to leave town in a hurry. With no money and no horse, her best chance of making her escape comes in the form of a soon-to-be-departing cattle drive led by the famous trail boss Wes Jordan. Wes is none too pleased when he discovers that the new drover he hired is actually a beautiful twenty-two-year-old woman disguised as a boy, but after hearing Jedda’s story he promises to protect her. As he quickly realizes, however, that will be easier said than done. Jedda is sassy, headstrong, and in serious need of a good, hard, bare-bottom spanking, and when her reckless disregard for her own safety finally pushes him too far, Wes takes her firmly in hand.

After a painful, humiliating punishment from the handsome trail boss, Jedda is left with her bottom burning and her mind set awhirl. In spite of everything, she aches for Wes to take her in his arms, and when at last he does the pleasure of his skillful, passionate lovemaking nearly takes her breath away. “Are you sure it will fit?” – from Kelly Dawson’s The Ways of the West

I am so glad Kelly Dawson dropped by with her new book, The Ways of the West. It’s an erotic romance set in old western times, which means- woohoo! hot cowboys! Not only is she sharing an excerpt, but she also brought one of the best lines in an excerpt. Hehe, it tickled me.  🙂

Excerpt:

Jessica was enjoying watching the shocked, but delighted, expression on Johnny’s face as she stepped out of the borrowed dress to reveal short, sexy drawers that had been the height of fashion back home in Boston, but which were still considered scandalous among decent company. She left the gown and petticoats in a puddle on the floor at her feet and shimmied out of her undergarments, standing completely naked before him in the dim glow cast by the lantern on the table by the bed. She’d never been naked in front of a man before but the excitement of the wedding was making her brave.

Johnny whistled softly through his teeth, stepping forward to place his hands gently on her waist, drawing her into him. “You are beautiful,” he whispered into her hair.

Jessica’s hands went to the front of Johnny’s pants where she urgently fumbled with the buttons with clumsy fingers. She wanted him naked, too. Groaning in frustration at the tight buttons that wouldn’t come undone, she moved her fingers to his chest, undoing his shirt instead. These buttons opened easily and she trailed her fingers inside his shirt, along the hard muscles of his chest. Pushing the shirt back off his shoulders she brushed her lips against the light smattering of hair she found there, pulling his shirt off completely and discarding it carelessly on top of her own pile of clothing.

“Here, let me,” Johnny murmured, brushing her hands away from his jeans, undoing them for her. She gasped when his erection sprang free, then reached out to touch it gingerly.

“It’s so big,” she breathed. “Are you sure it will fit?”

Blurb:

Orphaned by an attack on her family’s wagon train, Jessica finds herself stranded a thousand miles from Boston, the only home she has ever known. Only one man—a rough, dusty cowboy named Johnny—stands between her and the perils of the west, and he quickly makes it clear that he is ready to do whatever needs to be done to keep Jessica safe, whether she likes it or not.

When the unlikely pair stumble upon a cattle drive and they are both offered employment, Johnny doesn’t hesitate to accept. But after Jessica loudly expresses her disdain for his plan and for cowboys in general, Johnny decides it is time for drastic action. After a hard, embarrassing spanking followed by a tearful apology to the trail boss, Jessica is left with a sore backside and a strange yet undeniably powerful need to be held close and comforted by her handsome protector.

With Johnny by her side—and claiming an ever bigger place in her heart with each passing day—Jessica begins to adjust to life on the trail. But a cattle drive is a dangerous place for anyone, let alone a city girl with a penchant for disobedience. If he ever wants the chance to make Jessica his wife, Johnny knows he’s going to have to take her firmly in hand before she gets herself hurt or killed. Even if it means a painful, humiliating bare-bottom strapping she’ll never forget, one way or another he’ll teach her the ways of the west.

The Ways of the West

A few questions for Kelly Dawson :

Are you like any of your heroines?

Parts of me are, yes. Both mostly, my heroines are a mix of myself, people I know, and the completely made-up.

Tell us about a unique or quirky habit of yours

I have Tourette’s Syndrome. So while the strange things I do aren’t exactly habits, it looks like they are. Other than my visible tics, I have to peg all my washing on the line using colour-co-ordinated pegs, and things must be hung up a certain way. If anyone helps me hang out the washing it drives me insane, because I’m going along after them, “fixing” it all LOL.

If you could eliminate one thing from your daily schedule, what would it be and why?

Washing dishes. Self-explanatory really! – I hate washing dishes – they’re never ending!

Kelly Dawson visits with her new book- Rachel’s Journey

I am so excited to have Kelly Dawson visiting today. Her new book is about a woman with Tourette’s Syndrome. I just bought it, and can’t wait to read it. 🙂

*****

Rachel'sJourney (3) (547x800)

Author Bio: Kelly Dawson loves anything to do with horses, rodeos and cowboys, and loves to get lost in a good book – preferably a rural romance where a strong woman falls in love with a ruggedly-handsome, tough but gentle cowboy, and these are the types of characters who feature in the stories she writes. Author’s Note about Rachel’s Journey: Rachel’s Journey is very close to my heart. Like Rachel, I too, have Tourette’s Syndrome. I have tried to portray what it is like to live with this neurological disorder, and while Tourette’s affects everyone differently so each person’s experience is unique, it is my personal experience, how Tourette’s affects me, that is told in Rachel’s Journey. In some ways, Rachel’s Journey is my biography, only fictionalised. Rachel’s circumstances are nothing like my own, but in all the ways that matter, Rachel is me.

Blurb: Rachel was such a loser. Growing up with Tourette’s Syndrome has taught her that. Who could possibly want someone who contorted their faces in bizarre twitches or snorted at random? Not even Mike, the man who had promised he loved her, had been able to put up with it. She broke up with him when she caught him cheating on her during their great overseas experience, promptly flying back home to hide and lick her wounds.

James was the manager for the 850 acre farm she and her brother Simon had inherited.  She liked James. He’d always treated her nicely, like an honorary little sister, and she’d had a crush on him forever. Not that she could ever tell him. She wasn’t going to set herself up for rejection ever again.

But when it seems that someone is out to harm her, can she count on James to come to her rescue?

Set in rural New Zealand, this epic romance will thrill you and keep you captivated, enchant you with charming detail and inspire you, as learning to overcome adversity ultimately is Rachel’s Journey.

Excerpt: The first time James spanks Rachel

With one hand pressed firmly between her shoulder blades holding her down, he used the other hand to smack her butt, hard.

“Ow!” Rachel shrieked. Even through her jeans the smack had hurt! James smacked her twice more, even harder. “Ow! Get off me you brute!” Rachel shrieked again. She struggled to get free and kicked out at his shins, but he held her down easily, ignored her yells, and continued to spank her butt ferociously, his large work-roughened hand covering most of her bottom with each smack and the force of the blows jarring her whole body.

After another seven or eight whacks James let her up, but he stood in front of her, blocking her escape with his body. As Rachel stood up, she glared at James, daggers shooting from her eyes.

James knew that if looks could kill, he’d be shrivelling up and disappearing through the ground right about now. But that didn’t stop him from continuing the lecture he’d started earlier. He found his best scolding voice. “You are a brat. Why don’t you care about your personal safety? Or, come to think of it, the personal safety of anyone else who might be unlucky enough to be on the road at the same time as you?”

Rachel shrugged again. “I suck, ok? I don’t care about my safety because I don’t care about me! I thought you would have figured that out by now!”

James grabbed her by the shoulders and gave her a gentle shake, looking intently into her eyes. “No you do not suck. Why do you keep talking like that?”
