Maddie Taylor visits with a hot, new erotic western!

Maddie Taylor is visiting today with hot, new western!  It’s heating up the charts, and already has number one in westerns and number two for historical. Come check it out!! 🙂

Thanks for having me on today, Katherine. I glad for the opportunity to share a little somethin’-somethin’ from Wild Wisteria, my newest erotic western.

trilogy pic

Travel back with me to Laramie, Wyoming in 1880 for the It’s the third in my Jackson Brothers saga, about three tall, handsome as sin, western men who find the women of their dreams unexpectedly, when fate practically drops them into their laps. Of course, there is more to their stories, and it ain’t easy.

Danger abounds at nearly every turn, as well as drama, suspense, romance, passion and steamy action in (and out) of the bedroom, everything you’d want in an erotic western.

An excerpt from Wild Wisteria:

“I don’t need a keeper.”

She bristled at the skepticism in his tone.

“You got money?”

She didn’t answer.

“Something of value you can trade?”

More silence. She had Shasta, the clothes on her back, and literally, two cents to her name. If she could make it back home, there were a few friends she could count on, who might put her up for a spell until she figured something out. She hoped.

“Laramie’s a rough town for a woman on her own, especially one with a knack for finding trouble, which you have done time and again since I’ve met you. So from where I’m standing, a keeper is exactly what you need.”

“For a second time, this is not your concern.”

He continued on as though she hadn’t spoken. “After the storm passes, I’ll take you to the big house. Ma will take care of you until we figure something out.”

She looked up, eyes narrowed in suspicion. “Why would you do that? Why would she, for that matter? My brother and his friends tried to rob you, blasted crumbling caves and tunnels all over your land, and in general have been a pain in the a—” Seeing his dark look, she thought better of what she would say. “Yes, well, let’s just say they’ve been a real headache for your family. I can’t imagine your mother welcoming me with open arms—more like a loaded, double-barrel shotgun.”

He chuckled. “You don’t know my ma. You’ll make the third down-on-her-luck young woman in a year.”

“Well, that’s kind, but I can’t. I need to be moving along.”

“It wasn’t an option I was giving you, young lady.”

Her mouth fell open. Who did he think he was to boss her around? She asked him precisely that. “My daddy’s long since passed, so I know you’re not him to order me about. My shiftless brother hightailed it to parts unknown, so we can scratch him off the list. And,” she held up her left hand, “there’s no band of gold on this finger that gives you authority over me.” She wrenched free of his hold and stalked toward the door. “I’m leaving on Shasta and you can’t stop me.”

His firm hand on her arm spun her around. “Wanna bet?” he fired back. “You’re staying even if I have to truss you up like a Christmas goose to keep you here.”

“You wouldn’t dare,” she gasped, trembling with indignation.

“Oh, darlin’, if you knew me better, you’d rethink throwing a challenge like that in my face.”

The blurb:

Luke Jackson is drawn to beautiful, impetuous Wisteria Turner from the first moment he sees her. She is alone in a strange town and in trouble with the law, and she is reluctant to trust anyone, but Luke is not a man who backs down from a challenge. He is bound and determined to give Wisteria the help she needs, even if that means giving her a good, hard spanking to get her attention first.

Despite her hesitation, Wisteria is swept off her feet by Luke’s chivalry and bold dominance, and she finds pleasure in his arms like nothing she ever imagined. But after a night of incredible passion, a horrible misunderstanding shatters their newfound romance and her fragile trust. She flees Luke’s loving arms, only to encounter hardships, danger, and much more trouble than she bargained for.

When circumstances force Wisteria to return to Luke’s hometown, she does her best to keep the secret she has hidden since that night. Once the truth comes out, however, Luke puts his foot down. He makes it clear that he’ll be watching out for Wisteria from now on, whether she likes it or not. But can she ever truly set the pain of her past aside and embrace the promise of this good man and his loving family? Or will her wild nature continue to put up fences that will forever keep them apart?

Publisher’s Note: Wild Wisteria is a mostly stand-alone sequel to Marshal’s Law and Jackson’s Justice. It is a full-length erotic romance novel that contains sexual scenes and spankings, including domestic discipline in a historical setting. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

Thank you, military! (A tribute to soldiers in spanking romance)

thank you military

In honor of this year’s Memorial Day, I am doing something different.

First and foremost, thank you to all the brave military men and women who have served and are serving our country. Thank you to the spouses and families who carry on without their loved ones- sometimes, forever. Thank you to the business who bless the families and soldiers.

As a former Navy Brat, Army wife, and Army Captain, I have seen both sides of the military life, and am so grateful for all the awesome blessings I have today.

So Thank you!!!

Today, I am sharing some books that show the different sides of military life. Yes these are fiction, but they honor the before, during, and after effects, either from the soldiers’ perspective or the significant other.

If you decide to buy or read a book this weekend, please consider one of these.

And thank you to the authors who incorporated U.S military men or women as main characters in their stories.

These are just the ones that jumped into my mind first. I am sure there are plenty more from the spanking romance / erotic romance genre. Please feel free to add others in your comments below. 🙂

Happy Memorial Day!

I loved this book, and appreciated the author including PTSD as part of the male main character’s development. Not only was it sexy, and a ton of fun, but the brief explanation of PTSD really rounded him out.

as natural as breathing               Amazon Link

I love the premise of this story.  A scarred. wounded soldier, fresh from Afghanistan, still fighting his own battles. But he meets a man who is not afraid to love him for who he is. It sounds like a beautiful love story.  M/M

livs journey                Amazon Link

This was one of my very first books by Patricia Green, so it has a special place in my heart. I loved the fact that it had a non typical female character- a plus sized model. Kudos to Patricia for that. But what really made me fall in love with the whole Journey family (this is one of my favorite families), was Trey. Uber sexy, dominant, former military man- two tours in Afghanistan. I loved this story!

general's daughter           Amazon Link

This series is about a military family- Marines. I loved this story, and adore Sam, the female MC. She is just so much fun! All the men in her family, (her brother, father and Uncle) spank her to keep her in line. If I were being completely honest, I would tell you not only that this series given me a TON of wonderful fantasies, and I am also seriously crushing on Uncle Scott.  Yum!

callie mae and marine        Amazon link

Okay, I loved the premise of this story! A wounded former marine dealing with depression after his release from duty. He agrees to do a secret project- time travel to the old west. This one is on my Kindle. I can’t wait to read it. I love Stevie! 🙂 (I also love all the O’Malley’s!)

sir yes sir       Amazon link

I can totally relate to this story! A soldier comes back after a long tour of duty, and both he and his wife have to figure out how to adjust to civilian life. The author is fantastic at writing realistic stories, so this one should be pretty spot on. And I bet there will be lots of spankings. 😉

marines pet          Amazon Link

This one sounds fun! A Marine Corps Sergeant takes his bratty neighbor in hand.  Pet Play, BDSM, lots of spankings!

safeinhisarms_full       Amazon Link

Yum! Former marine. One night stand leads to accidental pregnancy. He comes back as a Black Ops agent, and protects her from bad guys. Sexy, yummy. Loved it! (Have I ever mentioned how much I love Renee? I’ll mention it again 😉 )

something has to give         Amazon Link

I loved this book. (Okay, I love everything Maren writes, but still… 🙂 ) A hot former soldier, whose wife left him while he was deployed; her loss- this guy is AMAZING! Lots of sparks between him and the “squatter” who took over his home. So much fun! 🙂 this was part of the Naughty List box set.

This one sounds sexy and fun, and I have to admit, I get all swoony over a man in uniform. 😉

Happy Memorial Day, friends! Hope you find a good soldier to help you get your “spank on” this weekend.

thank you patches

Author Share – Interviews and Guest Posts

Author Share black letters

Welcome to today’s Author Share about Interviews and Guest Posts. As a relatively new author, I still have a lot of questions about promotion. I’m still not very comfortable with self promotion, but do quite enjoy doing interviews and guest posts. And I love promoting other authors. Which led me to this week’s Author Share questions. I have invited two amazing authors, who are also fantastic at promoting other authors. Tara Finnegan and Maddie Taylor are here today to share some of their experiences. Thanks for joining me today, ladies. Let’s jump right in!

Katherine Deane: Ok, let’s start with the basics. What is the difference between an interview and a guest post ?

Tara Finnegan: Good question. I would say an interview is led by the questions or topics the interviewer wants to deal with, a guest post is led by the guest. So to put it in terms we understand an interview is almost D/s compared to guest post  which is more a vanilla “how do you like it, honey?”

Katherine Deane:  Great comparison! So the host / hostess really doesn’t have too much involvement with a guest post, correct?

Tara Finnegan. That’s the way I see it. The host may have specific requirements or a preference for a particular topic etc, but the general structure of the post will be up to the invitee. Although I stand to be corrected by Maddie on that. (Or even better again, if she can get some of her hot Doms from Club Decadence to correct me I’ll be very obedient in begging her pardon)

Maddie Taylor:  A guest post to me is pure, unadulterated promotion–blurb, excerpt, buy links, yada yada yada. A necessary evil and if done well can tease and leave the reader hungry for more.  So hungry that they pop on over to Amazon for a satisfying one-click snack.  LOL.  Bragging some may say, it’s true, but we all have to promote in this business, like a commercial, and get the word out.  I like interactive so much better because the reader can learn some very interesting tidbits about the authors the like.  Some, I have found, are much more forthcoming than others, to the point of exhibitionism.  Others are closed mouthed and you have to play dentist and pull it out of them one yank or key stroke at a time. I learned to ask open ended questions so I didn’t get yes/no answers.  Either way, Tara,  thanks for the shameless plug.  I have a few single Doms left at The Club who could help get to the bottom of your correction.  Do you prefer Master Sean or Lil T?  Name your Dom and I’ll send him straight over

Tara Finnegan: I’ll leave that choice in your capable hands, Maddie. I am sure one is as hot as the other, if you created them.

Katherine Deane: Mmm, I would like to stand corrected too! Or OTK corrected? 😉

Maddie Taylor: OTK, paddles, floggers, whips and canes are all possible, dear Katherine.  It all comes down to the degree of correction that is required.

Katherine Deane: LOL, Maddie, I’ll keep that in mind 🙂

Does one take longer than the other for either party (the host or the guest)?

Maddie Taylor: Aww!  She got serious again, what a sad turn.   Okay, I’ll  straighten up and be good, for now.

Katherine Deane: It’s sad, but someone has to keep the original conversation going. More wonderful spanky talk later 🙂

Tara Finnegan: My experience is that interviews tend to take longer for both! Obviously, the interviewer will have to come up with the questions, read the replies and then tweak the flow a little, whereas with a guest post, the host only has to copy and paste, checking links and formatting work.

Even the invitee will probably spend more time answering specific questions than they would on a guest blog.

Katherine Deane:  And in the case of an Author Shares, there is a lot of back and forth and tweaking, eh? 😉

Even though there is more work for one, is one better than the other? What are the pro’s and con’s for each?

Tara Finnegan: I’ll be interested to hear Maddie’s opinion on this as she does regular interview spots, and probably has it down to a fine art. In fact I don’t do half enough of them as I’m a bit of a lazy blogger, and quite happily go with what the visitor wants.

Maddie Taylor:  Thanks for mentioning it, Tara.  I have what I call Maddie’s Intimate Authors Corner on my weekly blog; Wicked Wanton Wednesday.  I ask my guests if they would participate in the interview and have a long list of questions, both serious (related to writing) and fun stuff (intimate questions like favorite spanking position).  To make it worthwhile, I ask them to answer at least 5 questions of their choice.   This gives my shy guests a chance to stay clear of the more personal questions and those inclined to let it all hang out a chance to do so.  Some answer all 25 questions quite graphically and in great detail.  Those are the guests I really enjoy.  Naughty me!  But to each his/her own.

Katherine Deane: Is there a protocol for getting hosted on someone’s blog?  Do I, as an author with a new book, just go out and ask? Or do I wait for someone to offer? Or is there a happy medium?

Tara Finnegan: Hmm, I don’t really know the answer to this. I think it’s ok to put out a post and issue a general request. Anyone who can fit you in, will. Those who have a full schedule don’t feel under pressure, as you haven’t contacted them directly. I find people tend to be very generous in offering blog days if you ask.

Maddie Taylor: I usually book a month in advance for my Wednesday spot, put out a call for guest spots and authors IM me.  When it’s my turn, I’ll usually go to former guests and see if they have a space for me.  So as a hostess and a guest, I guess you could say I go both ways.  LOL  Speaking of which, Katherine has a post coming up on my blog on July 22nd.  When are you dropping by, Tara????  See how easy that is  🙂

Katherine Deane:  Holy cow, Maddie, you are good at this!

Should I offer something in return? (copy of the book, space on my blog for one of their releases?)

Tara Finnegan: I think it is polite to offer a return date, even if you leave it an open date that they can call on you for in the future. There should be no need to offer a copy of the book, unless you are actually asking them to review it for you. I honestly don’t think anyone would expect that. Remember how many of their books you have bought in your lifetime 🙂

Maddie Taylor:  I agree with Tara, returning the offer is the polite thing to do. I usually stay away from offering a free book for a review because I think a reader should be under no obligation to give a good review in return for a freebie.  In this biz, I think we have to be prepared for any reviews, the good, the bad, and the ugly.  I let my publisher handle ARC’s in exchange for honest reviews.

Katherine Deane: Ooh, good point. Can you actually ask someone to review your book in addition to the promo- (in exchange for a free book?), or is that rude since you are already asking them to promote you? Is there a protocol on this?

Tara Finnegan: Again I don’t know if there is a protocol. What I’ve done in the past is if someone says they are going to read it before the interview/ blog day and post a review as part of the post, then I might offer a copy. I have never asked anyone to review for a blog post. Maddie may have more of an idea, as she has so much more experience than I.

Maddie Taylor: I’ve always wished there was a New Authors 101 class out there that would cover all of this, offering helpful tidbits on social media, how to promote your books, how to blog, what is expected of me, etc…  Wouldn’t that have been helpful, Tara?  I do try to reach out to new authors and offer advice if they are interested.  I had to learn as I went and so many experience authors helped me along the way that I think helping newbies is paying it forward.

Katherine Deane:  A new author’s 101 sounds very helpful!! I am very thankful for all the help my fellow authors gave me as well. 🙂

Can I post on my own blog or another person’s blog, on the same day I am being promoted by the other blogger, or is this considered rude?

Maddie Taylor: This has happened to me before because I am terrible with a calendar.  I’ve double booked and been double booked.  It didn’t bother me either way.  I say just give each blog equal time that day if it happens.  Also, I have offered the ‘double bookie’ a different date if they’d like.  That is how Tantalizing Tuesdays began on my blog… Sh… don’t tell anyone.  LOL

Tara Finnegan: Lol, I’m like Maddie, as in I don’t really keep a calendar. But also, I think the first couple of weeks of a release it’s really important to spread the word as much as you can, so I think doubling up then is fair enough. It’s marketing.

Katherine Deane: You ladies are awesome at what you do, on both the author side and the promoting side. Thanks for sharing your experience with me today. 🙂

From what I have taken from today’s post, author promotion is not just a one person job. It takes a team of supporters. It also seems like the wonderful old “back scratching” way of doing things. Or the golden rule. However you want to coin it. 🙂

There are several different ways of conveying the message, to give everyone an opportunity to see something different without getting bored.

And with a little respectful support, and willingness to help each other, the word will get out.

Thanks for stopping by today for Author Share  – Interviews and Guest Posts. I would love feedback. What do you prefer to read as far as promotion goes? Any other tips or suggestions?

Spanking A-Z Challenge, I: Interview with five sons of Johnny Hastings

spank A2Z

Quick Update: My youngest child is fighting Strep, and we are desperately trying to keep the rest of the family healthy as well. (LOL, as soon as a friend mentioned strep yesterday, my throat started hurting. 🙂 Hopefully, it is just psychosomatic.) I will not be replying much for the next few days, but will still keep the pre – set posts scheduled. Also, I will probably not be making many visits around to the rest of the blogs until all this passes. Hope y’all understand. 🙂 Hugs and blessings!

The authors of this fantastic set were willing to try something fun for this interview! I am so excited about having the chance to talk with each of their main men. Boy, were they hot! 😉

Western Alphas – belts, spurs and other kinky stuff

Abel Armstrong- The Blacksmith’s Bride (Patricia Green)

Matthew Caine – To Have and to Scold (Mary Wehr)

Jackson Owens – The Lawman’s Lessons (Patty Devlin)

Sam Pride – The Outlaw’s Bride (Renee Rose)

Clinton Ryan – The Juniper Bride (Maddie Taylor)

The Interview:

Katherine Deane walks into her  office, finding it suddenly cramped, with five gorgeous (yet huge) cowboys. She greets the gentlemen, narrows her eyes, and lets out a curse  that would make a sailor blush.

Katherine Deane: &^$%@ it, Corinne! I said I was burnt out and wished for five days of western sun, and a little kink thrown in.

(Her most trusted assistant, Corinne Alexander, replies over the intercom): Oops, sorry. You have seemed pretty stressed out these past few months. I thought you would enjoy an interview with five western sons who enjoy a little kink.

Katherine Deane: (curses again and turns her head to the five scowling, testosterone laden men in front of her.) All right gentlemen.  I’m sorry for the mix up.  I have only beta read for one of your authors, so the rest of you are quite new to me. How about a round of introductions?

Clint Ryan:  Hold on a second, young lady. Where I come from, ladies don’t use language like that.  In fact, women with salty tongues like that ofttimes find themselves with a mouthful of soap.

Katherine Deane: (rolls her eyes at the tall drink of water with black as midnight hair and startling blue eyes.  The cleft in his chin was sexy as hell and a bit distracting if she were being totally honest) Yeah, I gathered that. You are from what time, 1870’s? Nowadays, women have a distaste for soap.

Clint Ryan: Indeed? Well then, I have a good strong yardarm at my Boston shipyard. I could string you up for a good striping if you prefer. No? Then consider yourself lucky you are not my fiancee.  Of course, I prefer genteel women like my own Emmalee, so that wouldn’t likely happen. Although naughty as she is, she has felt the flat of my hand at times.  Many times more recently, if fact, during our trip to Denver.

(Clint frowns remembering all the mischief Em got into on the trail and the train).

Jackson Owens: If you had a taste for soap, that is you liked it, well, it wouldn’t quite do the trick now would it? If you were my woman I’d  bend you over that desk and warm your tail end, until you learned to curtail that tongue. You can ask Celia how well that works.

(Jackson winks at her and knows his point had been made when Katherine’s cheeks blush)

Katherine Deane:  I’m sorry, gentlemen. I’m a little out of sorts right now, please forgive my rudeness.

Sam Pride: (flashes his devastatingly handsome smile.) It’s all right, … we can have a reckoning later That’s what I call it with Mabelle, anyway. But first, would you like to finish this interview? How often do you get five characters  in one room at the same time?

Katherine Deane: You’re right. This is a marvelous opportunity!

(talking to herself now, ‘five handsome alpha males, together, not trying to kill each other. )

You’re not going to try to kill each other are you? I did almost have an issue the last time I put a few alphas together.

Matt : (chuckles) No, we are not going to try to kill each other. As a matter of fact, we all have something in common.

Abel Armstrong: Sure, we all have a cleft in our chins. (winks) I’m keepin’ mine under a beard just to keep the ladies from overwhelmin’ me. Not that I have eyes for them since meetin’ my Sunny. From the first moment, that li’l girl wrapped me around her  finger. Well, almost. She’s earned herself a few spankin’s along the way.

Katherine Deane: (leans back in her chair and smiles) That’s easy. Besides being handsome, old western types, you are also all spankos, right?

Clint: ( corrects her) I am not a ‘western type’ as you put it,  but I agree with the western philosophy of taking a sassy young miss across the knee when the situation warrants. If handled correctly, I’ve found some young ladies even enjoy it, despite their protests to the contrary. (A perfectly wicked grin curves his full lips and gives him a devilishly delicious appearance).

Abel Armstrong: Yep, I also  reckon a good, hard spankin’ can do wonders. But I  got the best results when I gave her some bare-bottomed swats in public. Whoo-ee, did that straighten Sunny right up. For a while, anyway.  She’s considerably younger than I am, so she tends to let her emotions run high.

Jackson: That’s a right good idea. Don’t know why I never thought of it.

Matt:  Me neither. I think we need to hang out with big brother for a spell. He’s got more experience. Maybe he can teach us a thing or two.

Katherine Deane: (leans back even further in her chair, furiously taking notes ) Public swats. mmm. Damn , you guys are hot.

Matt:  (scowls) That’s strike two concerning your salty language. Care to go for strike three? Each one of us is quite capable of administering a thorough spanking.

Abel Armstrong: Modern sensibilities are no excuse, young lady.

Katherine Deane: (swallows nervously as her cheeks turn a crimson red)  Sorry. bad habit.

Sam: (chuckles)  Matt is good with handling bad habits, aren’t you?

Matt: Why yes, I am. I find that a trip over my knee with a  firm hand applied to her bare bottom cures my little Annie of bad habits.( He winks at Sam) Corner time with a red bottom on display works too.

Katherine Deane: (leans back a bit further in her chair, her brightly painted pink toenails barely touching the desk in front of her)  Come on, please. Just tell me what the big similarity is.

(She takes a closer look at all of them) Wait a second.

Sam:  Are you seeing a bit of a family resemblance?

Katherine Deane:  (takes in the height, stature and dimpled chins. She can’t tell on Abel, because he wears a beard, but she suspects he also has a cleft there)

Abel Armstrong: We are all from the same father,  Johnny Hastings.  None of us knew about each other until his passin’. We met at the readin’ of his will. I reckon it was a fateful day for all of us. It purely was for me. I had no idea I was the eldest of five boys.

(Katherine Deane squints and shifts to the side trying to see a different angle )

(The chair  slips backward, and she falls flat on her back)

(Five pairs of hands help her to her feet.)

Matt: (asks in concern) Are you okay?

Katherine Deane: Sh*$, yeah, I’m ok. stupid %&^$ing chair!

(Her eyes go wide when she sees the  raised eyebrows  on the stern men around her)

Matt: (blows out a breath) Clint, where’s that bar of soap?

Clint: ( shakes his head sadly) Poor thing. She’s beyond soap. We’ll need lye and a scrub brush! Then we need to find her a spanking kind of man to tame her. Too bad we don’t have any more unmarried brothers.

Able Armstrong: Maybe we ought to use that chair for somethin’ more memorable than a soapy mouth. Three or four swats from each of us might scare that cursin’ right out of her.

Jackson: Why the chair when you have a perfectly functional desk? And after all those warnings you think the belt might leave a more lasting impression?

Matt: Well hell, we got five belts right here at our fingertips. No need to waste time lookin’ for soap. (He reaches for his belt buckle)

Katherine Deane: (Her eyes widen as she presses her hands to her backside)  Can I just say I’m sorry?

All five men: Yes. After your spanking.

Katherine Deane: Uh oh!

After interview:

Corinne jumps when she hears the door open, and nods at the five men who exit. They tip their hats with a “howdy, ma’am and a grin, and leave the office.

Corinne rushes into Katherine’s office to see her wincing as she sits down into her hard chair.

Katherine Deane: ( mumbles) I’m getting a cushioned chair for the next interview.

Corinne: Sorry about that, Kate.

Katherine Deane: No, that was a great call for an interview. And I’m sorry I yelled at you.  But  strangely, I feel a lot more relaxed. Which is good.

(She winces as she shifts in her seat). The next two weeks are going to be he– I mean, heck.   After that, I am seriously going to need a vacation. I’m going to need to stop time for a while and just chill and daydream and relax.

Katherine Deane:(sighs) Yep,  pencil that in for me , in two weeks, will you?

Corinne: (smiles knowingly) You got it, Kate.

She leaves the room, and marks her planner.

Katherine Deane – next interview – science fiction, alpha male, time travel, spankings

lawmancom patty devlin

The Lawman’s Lessons by Patty Devlin

Choose one of the two men, or take the return ticket and head home. It wasn’t much of a choice. Celia had worked and studied so hard to have a school of her own. And she had known that they might be a little upset. She knew exactly what they had wanted. It was stated very clearly in the advertisement and she could probably read and write better than anyone one of them.

Jackson sure never planned to marry, and how could he when his name would be a disgrace to his bride? So why had he fought so hard to keep her from marrying the other man? He could have shrugged it off and gotten out of there, but he just couldn’t do it. The new school teacher needed someone who would stay on her tail and teach her a lesson or else she’d run right into danger.

But, he’d have to be honest with her and tell her about that no good scoundrel who had sired him. She at least had a right to know he was a bas—illegitimate, that the man who fathered him had left his mother alone to fend for herself. Then if Celia could handle that, well, they could work the rest out. Besides, there weren’t any other good choices and she simply couldn’t be without a husband.

outlaws bride

The Outlaw’s Bride by Renee Rose

Mabelle Lawson had been managing her dead sister’s ranch without help for three months. The last thing she needs is a band of outlaws showing up and pushing her around. The Curly James gang members have no patience for her sass, and when their leader attempts to strike her with his fist, one of his men volunteers to spank her instead. She wants to hate the good-looking outlaw, but he seems to have her well-being at heart, even risking his life to protect her from the other men.

The Juniper Bride by Maddie Taylor

Emmalee Gray watches in frustration as her fiancé, Clinton Ryan, boards a train heading west. Told to stay behind and prepare for their wedding as Clint embarks on a mysterious errand, Em has other ideas. She doesn’t want to remain home without him, especially with her witch of a stepmother and a father who barely knows she exists. She’d much rather risk Clint’s wrath and follow him, planning to stay hidden until she gets so far away from Boston he wouldn’t dare send her back alone. Then she can enjoy some private time and maybe a little adventure with her gorgeous fiancé, in advance of their nuptials.

Unfortunately, Emmalee is a magnet for trouble and finds herself in one scrape after another. To keep her safe, Clint lays down the law: obey his orders or suffer the consequences over his knee.

Can they make it to their destination in one piece? When they do, and Clint’s past is revealed, how will Emmalee react, and will she ever find out why people keep calling her a “juniper bride?” With danger and intrigue swirling around them at every turn, can their passionate love survive?
