A Time for Will

Can Lissie live with Will’s 19th century attitudes? Or does he need to show her who’s boss one more time?

Blurb:

Identical twins, Verity and Felicity (Lissie) Pettigrew inherit an abandoned farm in the remote hills of the Methow Valley. Little do the twins know, but their windfall harbors a secret. While exploring the old barn, Verity stumbles into a hidden portal and is instantly transported more than one hundred years into the past.

In 1885, on the same farm, Will Dawson is saddling his horse when a disturbance in a corner of the barn catches his attention. In his haste to rescue the gorgeous woman in the center of the disturbance, Will is flung far into the future.

Meanwhile, Lissie arrives on the farm looking for Verity, but finds the handsome, slightly suspicious cowboy instead. From their first words to one another, sparks fly.

Lissie’s modern manners and profane language offend Will. His solution? Some old-fashioned discipline delivered on the spot.

Affronted by Will’s distinctly un-twenty-first century approach to male/female relationships, Lissie challenges his authority at every turn in spite of nearly always ending up over his knee.

Meanwhile, Verity must deal with life in 1885. Although accepted into Will’s family, she longs to get back to the 21st century and the man she loves.

Can Will live in a future in which progress comes at the price of everything he holds dear? Can Lissie win him over, and teach him that women can be independent and willful but still soft and sexy? Will Verity find her way back to the man she loves?

Publishers note: This stand alone love story includes scenes of domestic discipline and spicy romance.

The man was tall, over six feet, with broad shoulders and a slim waist. Clean-shaven with intense silver-grey eyes, he didn’t look happy to see them. This had to be another one of Verity’s practical jokes. His denim jeans, leather vest with deep pockets, and old-fashioned Stetson were straight from a costume store. His thin cotton shirt hugged him like a second skin, emphasizing his buff body. The only worrying detail was the gun and holster set.

Lissie pointed her chin at the revolver in his hand. “That’s not a very nice way to greet your hosts,” she said, trying to ignore the blood pounding in her ears. Verity had pulled some major pranks in her time but this was the first time she’d hired an actor to point a gun at her sisters. At least Verity had hired a hottie for this job.

“Who are you? Why are the two of you wearing men’s clothes?” The man frowned as he spoke, his slow drawl sounding out of place in the 21st century, even in this small country town.

“Who are you and what are you doing lighting fires on our land?” Lissie smiled sweetly, waiting for Verity to spring out of the bushes, yelling gotcha.

“I’m the one with the gun. Maybe you’d better start talking. My name is William Dawson. Mr. Dawson to you.”

“We’re innocent cowgirls, looking for our sister, Mr. Dawson, sir.” Even as she heaped on the sarcasm, it started to occur to Lissie this might not be a joke. His tone had been disapproving. Impatience still clouded his eyes. That made her bolder, if only to draw his attention away from Hope. “I’m Felicity and this is my sister, Hope. That’s Felicity and Hope to you.” Now might be a time not to give him too much information, she decided.

“I’ve been here a couple of hours now and you’re the first people I’ve seen.” He kept eyeing the truck nervously.

Lissie watched him. “What’s wrong with you? Never seen an F350 before?”

“No.” He looked at the girls one more time before slipping his gun back into its holster. “I don’t even know what an F350 is.”

“C’mon,” Lissie chided. “Have you been living under a rock? An F350 is a truck. They’re everywhere. This is mine.” She pointed to the blue one she’d just hopped out of. “And this one here belongso my sister. Verity came out here earlier today. She was going to organize the kitchen and bedrooms. Tomorrow the electricians are going to turn on the electricity to the house.”

“Electricity,” Will sounded out the word, as if it was Latin or Greek. “I’ve heard of that.”

Hope burst out laughing. “Okay, Verity,” she said to the bushes, “good joke. You can come out now.”

“I told you,” he said fiercely, “I’m the only one here.”

Lissie grinned. “I believe you, cowboy.” To keep his eyes off Hope, she moved closer, swinging her hips. In case he was some sort of psycho, she needed to do everything she could to save her little sister. She moved with far more confidence than she felt. As she approached him, she caught his grass, leather, and onions scent. It was a primal smell that spoke of hard work and honest labor. It was far more appealing than she wanted it to be.

If he was part of a practical joke, she’d make Verity pay. If he was something more dangerous than that, she wanted all his attention focused on her.  “What do you do when you’re not pranking innocent girls? Are you a movie extra or something?”

He narrowed his eyes at her as she sidled her body next to his.

She brushed some dust from his shoulder. “I’ve been asking Santa for someone like you my entire life. I guess the wait was worth it.” She ran her hand over the front of his leather vest. “This is nice and soft, just like your lips, I bet.” She made a kissy face at him.

He caught her wrist. “What sort of a girl are you, talking to a man like that?” His grey eyes glinted with outrage.

“I’m a modern sort of a girl,” she said. “I take what I like.” She reached with her other hand and stroked the dark hair that curled around his ears and under his hat. “Nice.”

Before she could register what he was doing, he grabbed her hands and pinned them behind her back. His long, muscular fingers held her two wrists together effortlessly.

Author Spotlight: Libby Campbell is here with Holding Cynthia

Holding Cynthia
(Romancing the Coast, book 2)

Can a diehard feminist like Cynthia learn to obey an indomitable man like Antony?

Where do you find inspiration for writing?

In the world around me: in what I read, what I see, what I hear on the news. Stories pop up in my head constantly but there’s a lot of chaff in that wheat.

One thing for sure, once I’m writing a novel, I’m always surprised at how the universe starts to ‘speak’ to me about it. For instance when I found the perfect house for Simon and Sadie to buy in Sadie Says I Do, I wondered what obstacle might make it hard for them to move in quickly. Later that same week, I read an article about a prominent Canadian whose house sale was snarled up with liens by the Canada Revenue Agency (our tax office)

If you could travel to any time, what time period would you like to explore?

I’d love to visit Victorian England if I could live as one of the upper classes. My roots are English but, on my mother’s side at least, my family were the ruled, not the ruling class.

I’d want to be the Victorian lady with a handsome, stern but loving husband who lets her sleep until 9, shop for fine clothes, and play cards until early morning hours.

Do you have a favorite vacation spot?

My favorite vacation spots are quiet and remote; I don’t seek bright lights. I’ve spent months in the Australian outback which I adored.

These days, my husband and I frequently escape to Salt Spring Island, in the Canadian Gulf Islands (the other half of Washington State’s San Juan Islands). Seguro Island in the Simon in Charge series and Seeing Ronnie is a fictional island based on Salt Spring. A lot of the features are the same: the lovely ferry ride to get there, the Saturday markets, the wonderful hiking trails in the forest, and the history of the blacks who moved there to escape slavery.

We love Salt Spring because of the lack of light pollution. On summer nights we sit on the lawn, listening to the frogs, watching the bats come out to feed, while counting shooting stars.

Blurb:

Antony Jacobson first held Cynthia Donohue in his arms at a wintry December wedding. Four months later, the statuesque, silver-haired woman continues to haunt his thoughts.

Cynthia is about to move to the West Coast to be closer her daughter. As her plane touches down in her new city, she steels herself to cope on her own. When she finds Antony waiting at the arrivals gate, a wave of gratitude and desire floods through her.

A lifetime of independence hasn’t prepared Cynthia for a submissive role in a relationship. She craves love, romance, and someone to share sunsets. But deep down she believes her dreams are out of her reach. Worse, they are a betrayal of her feminist principles. That’s fine: indomitable, handsome Antony will wait.

She is tired and aching beyond all memory so Antony takes charge. Very quickly, he realizes there is something wrong, very wrong, with Cynthia’s health. He insists that she see a doctor.

She says he is overprotective. He agrees. He is also determined to look after her if she won’t look after herself. A trip over his knee shakes Cynthia to the core. In spite of herself she likes – she wants – this loving correction. More importantly, she agrees that he may be right about seeing a doctor.

Is Antony too much, too soon, or is he just what the doctor ordered?

Excerpt

Antony pulled his hand back and crossed his arms over his chest. “And when I dropped you at the massage center, what did I say?”

“You said I could call you for a ride home.”

“No, I told you to call me.”

“Told, asked. Same difference.”

“You may be a whiz at French, but you obviously need a few lessons in the English language. When I tell you to do something, it’s not multiple choice, pick the most appealing option. It’s an order, pure and simple. Do you understand?”

“Yes, I get what you’re saying.”

“And when you fail to obey me, there will be consequences. I want that clearly understood.”

“Con-se-quences,” Cynthia said the word slowly, pronouncing the se syllable as say, as if she were speaking French. She dragged it out to delay answering. “Would you care to elaborate?”

“Remember when I warned you that last night’s smack might just be a starter if you didn’t behave?”

She nodded.

“I wasn’t kidding. When you fail to look after yourself, I will spank you.”

His words hung in the air between them like a sudden frost.

Her mouth was chalk dry. “Spank me?”

“Yes, spank you. Bare your bottom and turn you over my knee. I want to keep seeing you. I want to see you well, managing your health sensibly. Obviously you’re forgotten how to do that over the years and you need some supervision. My supervision. And when you disobey me, I will punish you in the good, old-fashioned way. Do you understand?” His voice was level, calm. Most of all it was authoritative.

“What? You think I’m going to just submit to that?” Even as she asked the question her pussy clenched with desire and her fingers itched to touch him, to say yes with caresses. She wanted her body to consent so she wouldn’t have to say the words out loud.

“That is exactly what I think, Cindy.” He emphasized Cindy in a way that said he was going to use that name affectionately and proprietarily whether she agreed or not. He was telling her what the conditions of seeing him would be as if he sensed, quite rightly, that this was what she wanted.

Seeing Ronnie
Romancing the Coast, Book 1

Part beauty, part beast, Ronnie needs to be tamed. Del knows just how to do that.

Publisher:      Blushing Books
Release date: March 29, 2017
Genre: Contemporary, DD, paranormal romance

Blurb:
As a social blogger, Ronnie Flynn—aloof, beautiful, cool as a cucumber—is desperate to get to the society event of the year: Simon and Sadie’s engagement party on Seguro Island. No surprise that her name isn’t on the guest list, but as always, Ronnie has a backup plan. A plan that involves the handsome Del Franklin.

Del agrees to a swap: Ronnie gives him the scoop on his estranged wife’s dirty secrets and he takes her as his date to his boss’s party. The handsome, buff man of Italian descent makes only one condition: Ronnie better be good. No snooping. No manipulating. No digging for dirt. Or else.

With crossed fingers, and in spite of Del’s threat of putting her over his knee for disobeying, Ronnie ‘promises’ to be a good girl. Right. She’s not worried about Del. Her code of Keeping a Healthy Distance will protect her heart, and her backside. She’s too wily to get caught, anyway.

Ronnie sees. Literally. She can channel people’s feelings and see into their hearts. All her life, she has been hiding this secret weapon—her psychic ability—because what she sees is often too hard understand and impossible to share. If she can handle that secret, surely she can handle Del. Or can she? He’s not like anyone else. Nothing has prepared her for him. She shouldn’t react like this to his dominance. She’s an independent, wealthy woman in her own right. No man will tell her what to do. Yet, there is something about this sexy dominant Latin lover that makes her pulse race.

Will Ronnie allow Del to break her Code of Keeping a Healthy Distance? Will seeing Ronnie open Del’s eyes to a new world? Will the two of them ever see life the same way?

Excerpt:
When you’re with me you will be polite and well mannered. Agreed?”

“Agreed.” Ronnie nodded soberly to show her good intentions, but under the table she crossed her fingers.

“You better mean that.” Del drained his coffee cup and levelled his eyes at her. “Because if I catch you prying or snooping—doing anything outside the bounds of good manners—there will be consequences.”

“Consequences?” Ronnie licked a drop of tea off her lips.

“Serious consequences.” The corner of his mouth lifted in a crooked smile. “I will turn you over my knee and paddle your bottom until you beg me to stop. And then I will spank you some more. Do I make myself clear?”

“You do,” Ronnie whispered. A damp flutter clenched between her legs and she pressed her knees together as if she could lock out the desire that suddenly sent her blood boiling. No one had ever threatened her like that before. Worse still, it was as though he was the one with the gift of second sight, as if he’d read her secret intention to ignore everything he’d just said. She glanced over her shoulder to see if anyone might have heard his sultry caution. No one was paying them any attention.

The very worst part was that she had no idea how she was going to turn off the part of her personality that wanted to know everything about everybody. She’d been accused of living through the dramas of other people’s lives and there was more truth to that than she cared to admit. Her own life was dishwater dull and she kept it that way so she had energy for her work as gossip queen. More importantly she kept her life orderly so that there was no mud that could be slung her way. She twisted her tea cup to avoid looking at Del.

“One last problem.” Del spoke as calmly as if he hadn’t just suggested the most erotic thing anyone had put to Ronnie in ten years or so. “I haven’t made a booking and I’m sure every hotel and B&B on the island will be full by now.”

“I have a place we can stay.” Ronnie forced coolness into her voice. She didn’t say it’s a fabulous place and it’s for sale. She’d only seen it in pictures but if it was half as good in real life, she planned to buy it. That was her secret and she wasn’t sharing it with anyone. She held her expression impassive.

“You’ve got a place on Seguro?”

“I wish. This place belongs to friends, but we can use it this weekend. I also have ferry reservations to get us there.” Even if she didn’t get an invitation to the Jacobson bash, she’d planned a weekend on the island to test drive the lake house.

Del lifted an eyebrow. “Separate rooms?”

“Absolutely. I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

The memory of the warmth and strength of his hand in hers made her think that sharing a bed with Del Franklin might be pleasurable. The idea of being turned over his knee made her legs tremble. But none of that was going anywhere. She indulged herself in little fantasies from time to time, but she never acted on them.

Ronnie had sworn off men a long time ago.

Sometimes, a gal just wants to be spanked!

Bad, naughty Zoot! You must spank her well. And then, spank me.

Bad, naughty Zoot!
You must spank her well.
And then, spank me.

Sometimes a gal just needs to be spanked.

Ok, I’m in one of THOSE moods again. I can’t really explain it.

I’m flighty, hyper, my attention won’t hold for 15 minutes, let alone long enough to finish the blog post I need to finish. My head is spinning with a gazillion (bajillion any better?) thoughts that are just out of my reach.  All I can think about right now, is the one thing that got me here to begin with.

Spanking

I’m having another day where I just can’t get IT out of my head. The sounds, the glorious feeling, the warmth, the heat, the connection with my spanker, and dare I say, the arousal that almost always comes from this.

I love spankings!

I love being spanked (by my husband. Don’t get me wrong. I have fantasized about other men taking me in hand before, but I know this is fantasy, and that my hubby would be hurt by me accepting another man’s attentions.  So that stays in the realm of fantasy.)

I stare longingly, while watching a session on spankingtube, living vicariously through another woman’s delightful bottom warming.

Sometimes, I watch school girls get spanked by head mistresses. It is fun, and kind of silly.  Sometimes, I watch men take their women over their knees for play.

Sometimes, I see a man discipline his wife for something like overspending or texting while driving.  (I can empathize and realistically envision this scenario, since I am one to overspend when I get stressed.)

Some of the scenes seem real, some are acted out.

Usually I don’t care. If the spanking is good and hard, I will give some leeway on acting skills.

I prefer the scenes that are just about the spanking, instead of showing private sexual encounters. I like sharing their spanking scene, but don’t want to share their further intimacy. Which is ironic, because I love READING about sex after spankings, and often times find myself so aroused after my own spankings that I initiate the further actions with my hubby.

The point is I love thinking about IT,

Seeing IT,

Hearing IT,

And most of all, feeling IT.

Watching a spanking video gives me the opportunity to receive most of my spanking input.  I watch, mesmerized as the woman’s bare bottom bounces up and down, reddening with each firm smack. I like it when she wiggles around and tries to escape, creating in me the vision of non-consensual punishment, and a need to escape.  It is delicious.

I get very aroused watching these, and picture myself in these scenes.  I can easily picture myself squealing and wiggling over my HOH’s lap, as he attacks my poor bottom.  I shudder, shimmy, whimper, and moan, while he continues his show of dominance over me, on my bare bottom.  (Sometimes, I get so aroused by visualizing a glorious OTK session.  I wake up hubby, so we can finish the next sequence of delightful events. He has not complained yet. 🙂)

But I love most of all, to put it all together into one big scene that my HOH and I take part in – our own spanking scene.  Sometimes, it is for discipline, sometimes for maintenance and role affirmation, and sometimes for fun.  To be perfectly honest, I will almost happily accept any of it.

I like to be spanked.

Our first role play scene involved hubby forcing me over his knee and paddling me into submission. I tried to escape the onslaught of his hard, fast hand. I bucked and bounced, I cried out, and begged him to stop.  His lap was so hard, his hand even harder. Again and again, he spanked, leaving no portion of my bottom and thighs untouched, choosing to sometimes attack the same spot. I howled and begged some more, as he threw his leg over my legs, and shushed me.

(I wanted him to call me “naughty”, and tell me to “take what I had coming to me like a good girl”. But alas, he wasn’t quite ready for that much acting. )

After a very long, intense session, that included his hand, a few wooden implements, and a belt, I finally lay in a heap over his lap- worn out, my sore bottom aching and hot, feeling loved and content and peaceful. (And completely aroused)

This is what spanking does for me.  I can fantasize about it, read it, watch it, listen to it, or receive it.  They all fill a void in me, and ground me, and help me connect with myself and my HOH.

And when I don’t receive any of this stimulation, I feel agitated, easily angered, tired, unfocused, and sometimes, even a little bit unloved.

Spanking brings me back to life somehow.

It invigorates me, and gives me a chance to be still and focus.

Most of all, it gives me a chance to revel in who I am – the real me.

My name is Katherine Deane.

I am a Spanko.

And right now, I could really use a good, long, bare bottom spanking.
