Heather Hart brings another sexy spy!

Heather Hart is visiting today with the second in her awesomely sexy Spy Games series!

“Time to take things to the next level.” He punched in a message: Game for a little wife swapping?

He stared at the message for a second, his thumb hovering over the Send button. The message itself made him sick to his stomach, but then he thought of all the innocent women and men who just disappeared, and he steeled himself. He had a job to do. With a heartfelt sigh he hit Send. If he had to do it, might as well get it over with.

He dropped the phone on the bed and looked over to his half-eaten sandwich, but his appetite was gone. He should never have gotten into this with Kassie. She meant too much to him. It was not like he had a choice though; for a good submissive, she had a will of iron outside the bedroom.

Ping! He picked up the phone. The reply was from Alex.

Sure. Where and when?

Robert typed his response. Tonight too soon?

The reply was instant. My hotel room. Nine o’clock.

Shit. Well, it was done now. He was never going to say no. We’re looking forward to it. See you then.

After he sent the message, he dropped the phone on the bed and hoisted himself up. The job sucked, but the worst was to come. He had to tell Kassie. And though she’d know this was their plan from the get-go, he still hated to tell her. Not because he thought she’d be disgusted by the idea. Worse. He was afraid she might enjoy it.

Knowing Alex is expected to arrive at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, she and her partner devise a plan to flush him out into the open. She and Robert Redmond sail down in their small boat to meet Alex.

Although he is her master in the bedroom, Robert can’t help but accede to Kassie’s every whim outside it. But he has met the charming yet ruthless Alex before, and knowing what he is capable of, he fears Kassie may be in over her head.

He sets a close watch on her, but even he can’t be with her twenty-four hours a day. There is always a chance she might slip through his fingers the second his back is turned. And if the amoral, sex-trading Alex manages to get his hands on her, the love of his life could be sold and lost to him forever.

Heather Hart visits with her Spy Games- Assassins

Heather Hart’s here to introduce us to her Spy Games series. This is the first book in the series, and it sounds awesome! I love the premise of the story. Here you go. 🙂

Kassandra didn’t smoke but she accepted the cigarette without question. She uncrossed her legs and leaned forward so the man beside her at the bar could light her up.

“Thanks.” She drew the smoke in like a pro. “I needed that.”

“You’re welcome. This is one of the few places in town that still allows smoking. My name’s Robert. Nice to meet you.”

“I’m Kassandra. My friends call me Kassie.” She never lied about her name. It was all part of the training. The fewer lies, the less the risk of getting caught out. She lowered the cigarette to the bar, flashing her highly polished nails. In her peripheral vision she watched him check out her legs as she crossed them again. He would be able to see the top of her suspenders. She had done that on purpose.

He wagged his finger at the bartender and pointed to her glass. “Another?”

“One for the lady and another for me.” He spun round on his stool, facing the bar and mirroring her position. She tugged at the hem of her skirt. “This is your first time here, isn’t it?”

“Yes. How can you tell?”

“You keep pulling your skirt down. Yet you dressed for the part. But I see it makes you uncomfortable. So tell me, Kassie, what brought you here?” His voice was deep and authoritative. It made her skin tingle in a most pleasant way.

She pointed to a booth just behind them both. “That’s my friend, Wanda. She said I might enjoy it, meeting you all, trying new, um, things.” Friend. Wanda was an asset, cultivated a few weeks back when she learned of Robert’s taste for the BDSM lifestyle. She was her ticket into the club.

“Ah, yes. Wanda has a lot of friends. I’ve met quite a few of them.”

He licked his lips, like a man reliving a pleasant memory. She squirmed in her seat, trying not to betray the disgust in her belly. They had told her he liked to tie women up and flog them. As cute as he was, bending over to take a good beating was not her idea of a fabulous time. But, then again, what she liked didn’t come into it. Offering herself as a submissive was the most expedient way to earn his trust. Not everything about her job was perfect.

Fresh out of training, the Agency sends Kassie Shannon into the secret world of Robert Redmond. They know he’s using his billion-dollar software company to steal sensitive information. What they don’t know is who he is selling the stolen information to, and it’s her job to find out.

He is a highly organized and secretive individual, and gaining Robert’s trust will be no easy task. But his Achilles’ heel is his passion for the BDSM lifestyle, so she poses as a trainee submissive and puts herself in his path.

Naturally cautious, Robert has never let a woman get under his skin. Until now. There’s something appealing about this inquisitive brunette with her oddly changeable personality and her passion for all things painful. He agrees to become her master, but soon falls for the chameleon beauty who is quickly becoming the most promising novice he has ever trained.

For Kassie there’s one big problem, though. The first rule of spying is not to fall in love on the job. Yet it’s hard to keep a professional detachment when your mark is all you ever wanted in a partner, and one who keeps opening doors to pleasures she never knew existed.

Still, sooner or later she will have to choose between two opposing demands—the cause she believes in, or the man she is bound to. Whichever choice she makes, it is likely that no one will win.

What does Agatha Christie Have to Do with Spanking Romance? Renee Rose thinks everything!

Renee Rose: Hi Katherine! Thank you so much for hosting me today to talk about mystery novels.

Katherine Deane: Wait–what? I’m here for the spanking. What are you talking about??

Renee Rose: Well, it occurred to me that my new book The Darlington Incident has an oddball influence: Agatha Christie. I grew up reading mystery novels, starting with Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys as an early reader, and progressing to Agatha Christie by my teen years. I read every single Nancy Drew book at least three times (I used to read one a day when I got home from school) and I know for a fact I have read every single Agatha Christie written (almost 100).

Now many of the stories I ingest often come out as spanking stories, but I can’t say that Nancy Drew or Agatha Christie’s ever did (they lacked good alpha males, I suppose). Hardy Boys, yes, but that’s another story. So when I wrote The Darlington Incident, it took me a while to realize that a little Agatha Christie sneaked into this one.

One of the fabulous things about Agatha Christie novels is the way the suspects of a crime are all contained on a property. The mysteries often take place at a weekend party, a boarding house, or some other setting where a limited number of people could have entered or exited.

I used the same trope in The Darlington Incident, setting the events at the Westerfield’s Ides of March festivities. Spymaster John Andrews poses as Lord Darlington in order to discover the traitors involved in selling/buying secret government plans.

Naturally, his main suspect is the woman with whom he is falling in love: Eliza Hunt.

Katherine Deane: (grumbles) I’m still waiting for the spanking.

Renee Rose: (laughs) You’ll have to read the book.

“Why did you return?” she asked.

“I came back to see you,” he admitted. “Though I did not plan to ask you to play parlour games with me.”

“Why?” she demanded. “I do not mean why not parlour games, but why did you come to see me?”

“I enjoy your company,” he answered truthfully.

And I suspect you of treason.

He hated his suspicious mind, which reasoned she and Lord Auburn might be the two he sought, and the forced kiss an act to cover up an interrupted meeting. He did not wish to believe such a thing. He wanted only to comfort the lovely woman on his arm.

She stopped and stared up at him, a deep furrow between her brows. “How can this be?” she demanded. “What is going on? Two men cannot seek me out without cause.”

He frowned. Grasping her arms he gave her a gentle shake. “Do not underestimate your charms,” he scolded.

A giggle bubbled up from her lips. “You are like no other man I have ever met, Lord Darlington.”

When spymaster John Andrews receives word that plans are afoot to sell England’s secrets to her enemies during the Ides of March ball at the Westerfield Estate, he is determined to bring an end to this treasonous game. Posing as a gentleman by the name of Lord Darlington to stake out the event, he is ready for anything as he mingles with the members of the ton…except falling for his prime suspect, the lovely wallflower Miss Eliza Hunt, in whose trunk the secret documents are soon found.

After new evidence leads him to believe Eliza may be innocent, John cannot wait to catch the traitors, clear her of all suspicion, and then ask for her hand. Though he fears he is not the sort of man worth having as a husband, he knows that if he wants Eliza as his own he will need to face the demons of his past and lay claim to the title and the birthright he abandoned long ago.

Eliza knows Lord Darlington is not the gentleman he purports to be, but he is the first man to see beyond the birthmark on her face and treat her like a beautiful woman. She dreams of a life at his side–and in his bed–even once it becomes clear he stands ready to punish disobedience with firm chastisement applied to her bare bottom! As he draws her out of her shell and demands she let go of her self-doubt, her desire for him grows ever stronger, but can their love survive the shadowy designs of those who would do England harm?
